Great new deep house mix for you! Lots of new stuff along with a pinch of this year's "classics" as we head into the end zone of 2013.

Things are deep and dark in a lot of places with plenty of energy to move the floor, let the low end be your guide.

Deep Dirty Dance

Annnnnd we're back with a cream-of-the-crop mix from a Thursday night house [warming] party at my place! It's an energetic blend of dark grooves and classic deep house sounds guaranteed to keep you bumpin'!

The first track is instantly recognizable as the beat & riff from Busta Rhymes' "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See", house-ified and re-formed to dance floor perfection by Sharam Jey and Kolombo in "Big Deal!".

From there we're taken back to 1994 with Romanathony's "Let Me Show You Love", a house classic given a great new angle this year with this remix by Gerd.

Keeping with the classic deep vibe, we dive into "The Break Up" from Detroit Swindle, a flashback groove despite it being just released this month.

Bringing things up with a deep rasta feel is one of my favourite artists, Miguel Migs, featuring Junior Reid with "Fire". Very house-meets-18th-Street-Lounge, love it.

Then we're into the dark and massively catchy "House is House" by Darius Syrossian and Hector Couto, it's hard to get enough of that beat and well-timed vocal samples.

Keeping things dark and dirty is a sinister remix of "It's Yours" by Jon Culter & E-Man, remixed by NiCe7. I've heard over a dozen versions of this track in one incarnation or another over the years. this one is a keeper.

Rolling along into the night Supernova brings it with "Sound of Thunder" feat. ZION, a goose-bump creating blend of gorgeous vocals and hope inspiring breaks, contrasting with a high tension bass line that you can't help but move to.

Popping back to the classic deep end, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (excellent name) shows us "Your Love" with a perfectly executed deep house synth and a high energy jackin' beat.

From there we roll back, chill out, and regroup with "Yeah" by Amine Edge. It brings soulful vocals, a delicious focus on the piano and terse electric guitar as it develops into a beautiful soundscape.

And we're back into the Miguel Migs, first with "Giving It All". Aya's soothing vocals and a building beat blend perfectly into another Migs track with Lisa Shaw (another favourite of mine) in a sassy tune called "Those Things".

Dropping into the deep and dark again, Josh Butler tells us that he's "Got A Feeling", and I dig it.

Then Lisa Shaw makes another appearance with a minimal dub synth track where her amazing voice soars in "Born to Fly".

And finally, no deep house set is complete without an appearance of Mr. V in my book, he and Chris Minus team up with "The End", remixed by Oliver $. The result is an excellent deep house vibe with conscious (and funny) lyrics that closes things off nicely.

Turn it up, especially the low end, and get dirty!

An American DJ in Krabi

We're kicking off 2011 with a dancey house mix packed with new beats and remix goodness!

I've started playing out here in Krabi more and am excited to share the latest tunes I've been dropping with everyone! Definitely remix heavy with a good amount of electro house flavah.

Kicking it off with Gramophonedzie's "Why Don't You", which sets the mood perfectly with its breakbeats-meets-swing goodness. And it sets the stage perfectly for an awesome remix of "Take Me Out" by Haoxx. I've been looking for a solid remix of this track for years and it's my pleasure to present it to you. So I guess now technically Franz Ferdinand has two good songs.

Then it's into the "D.A.N.C.E." with MSTRKRFT's remix of the classic Justice track. And everyone's heard the track "American Boy", so it was inevitable that I found a remix I loved of it. Not a fan of Kanye? No problem! He's been entirely edited the fuck out, care of the Soulseekerz Club Mix.

And then we've got another instant classic: "Barbra Streisand" ... if you haven't heard this song yet we'll fix that. I hear people singing the 'oooooh ooooh ooohhs' on the sidewalk here, it's that catchy. And there is no doubt why: Duck Sauce is A-Trak and Armand van Helden, who are at the top of their house game, and it shows.

Next up we're into the progressive house with DJ Kue and a couple of delicious Freemasons remixes (who doesn't love Kylie and New Order?!)

Off into Milk & Sugar's latest, a remix of "Hey (Nah Neh Nah)", which is amazing and super addictive, followed closely by Chosen Few vs. Tears for Fears ... can't get enough of the 80s!!

Which drops us right into "Fast Driving" by Dallas Superstars (who are actually Finnish). This is another track I've had on my wish list and finally got my hands on the full JS16 Remix last week.

Closing out we've got "Into the Night" remixed by Dave Aude, sometimes his stuff is too trance-y for me, but this hits the spot. Finally we rip into it with the dance institution Blank & Jones, these guys are in the hall of fame, and this track is part of their legacy.

Turn up the bass and get your groove on!

Git Cho Starstrings

Two full hours of great house music old and new!

Kicking things off with an old school house classic, "Passion" by Gat Decor (Addictive), we continue into the good stuff with a great new track by Fluxx & Lola, a remix of Starstrings by Jody Wisternoff (Hed Kandi) ... god I love Hed Kandi ... anyway.... It's all killer and no filler people. You have to listen to believe it! ;-D

Got a new fave of mine in here as well: "Git Cho House On" by Mike Dunn & The Md X-Spress (Defected) ... the words are fucking perfect if I say so myself .. if you haven't heard it you'll understand when you do. Then of course we have the MJ cover track of Billie Jean feat. John Biancale who does a great MJ ... without the child molestation... bonus.

Then its more good stuff with Adagio For Strings (classic!), some Playmaker, Saints & Sinners (of Bedrock/Digweed fame), a remix of Everybody Wants to Rule the World, and some Blank & Jones taking things to the next level!

Finally 2 Bit Pie (which is really electronica group Fluke working with other artists!) rips shit up ... very Juno Reactor/Matrix style.

So as you can see ... a lot has been going on since I've released my last mix ... I've still be spinning but this is the first mix I've been happy with enough to post online ... I finally got my ScratchAmp working again here in Bangkok and the affect on my performance skills is noticeable, did this mix in 1 take straight through.

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I do, and did making it!

House Kiss

This is less of a show and more of an album ... it includes 2 remixes of my own creation which were mostly responsible for the delay in getting this mix out.

I completely obsessed about the Katy Perry vs. Nicki Bliss track :P

For those of you not aware, Katy Perry released the song "I Kissed a Girl". But before her track went on sale, two other artists (one of them being 'Nicki Bliss') released basically the same track before Katy Perry could, I believe she got #8 on the iTunes store before the real track came out. Quite hilarious.

Anyway, I liked Nicki's house version but thought the chorus lost a lot of the fun of the original track. So I brought it back and get them singing together at parts. Very interested comparing their voices too. Heh.

Enjoy!

1,000 Year Orbital Decay

This week I've got a slow building deep and semi-minimal mix going. Very Sash-Digweed if I say so myself ... and I will.

One of the fun parts about a mix like this is smoothly moving from song to song without breaking the very delicate mood, especially at first.

So this week I present to you a deep-tech accelerating mix building up to a nice climax at the end (evil beats and an 80s remix, say whaaaat?)!

As you listen to the mix, "1,000 Year Orbital Decay", think of a probe sent by a civilization millions of years ago and countless light years away ... to watch over Earth ... and wait. This is its song, its story. Experience its journey to us, its arrival, and what it saw as it watched.

ENJOY!!

Goodbye Tears

Woooo! uvMix is back, and better than ever.

With the loss of our "local station" in the Upper Valley (WXND RIP!) and myself (DJ Trolld) currently living in Tokyo, things have certainly changed since the last mix - over 9 months ago.

So with a proud smile on my face I present to you "Goodbye Tears" - A mix of a few different styles, some Electro & Progressive House, some straight up House and finally a phat slice of Breaks.

It was hard saying goodbye to The States and my American friends, but change is good and hopefully this mix will prove it :)

Next week the uvMix shall return, so enjoy this mix and stay tuned for more good stuff!

This show is dark and fast. Load it up and prepare to be accelerated.

I ran over the time limit and couldn't bare to drop a single track, so I skipped the intro this week. That is how dedicated we are here.

Lots of great tracks tonight! Just scored a new iiO release that is in there, as well a hefty selection of dub and dark house. Perfect for speeding, dancing, grooving.

Oh, and a TIIIGHT Feelin' Kinda Strange original at the end.

I love this shit.

BANG. Back at you with another jam packed show full of the good stuff. We've got DJ Droid temporarily back from the Arizona wilderness, and he's been in the studio cranking out the freshest beats that you've been missin' since he was gone. We'll hear the first installment from him this week, featuring the newest NaS, Hi-Tek, Styles P and more ... this stuff is HOT!!

But first, I head it off with a continuation of my deep mood from the last show, and grow the vibe into a sort of electo-clash head-bang. Look out for Deadmau5 and a Paranoid Social Club remix among all the goodies. ENJOY this jam packed show!
